CHARADRIIFORMES: Scolopacidae
Tringa glareola
Following up on a report from a local birder of a lone Wood Sandpiper at Dowse Lagoon Sandgate, I went searching for the bird. I eventually found the Wood Sandpiper after several hours in a different part of the lagoon to where it had been reported.
It was a long way out in the lagoon so I thought I would put on the x1.4 and x2.0 converters which would turn the 500L f4 lens into a 1400mm f11 lens. I would have to hand focus and I was unsure of what would happen to the quality of the photo but I was pretty happy with the results.
